Setelah merilis sejumlah single yang sukses menarik perhatian para pencinta musik dunia sepanjang 2021, musisi R&B Amerika-Vietnam thuy hari ini merilis video musik terbarunya untuk single “in my head” yang diambil dari EP perdananya ‘i hope you see this’ yang siap dirilis pada 29 Oktober 2021 mendatang.
Vokal lembut dan lirik-lirik thuy yang otentik dan jujur menjadi highlight dari “in my head” di mana thuy terdengar menyanyi di atas melodi gitar yang moody. Lagu “in my head” adalah lagu yang tepat untuk membawamu kembali tenang di saat-saat kamu merasa kehilangan arah.
“Lagu ini membicarakan tentang saat kamu berpikir bahwa kamu telah berhasil melupakan sebuah hubungan. Kita semua pernah di posisi itu di mana kamu merasa sangat sedih dan kamu terlalu banyak minum, lalu kamu menghubungi mantanmu,” ujar thuy. “Kamu mengingat-ngingat masa-masa terindah dengannya dan kamu berpikir bahwa ia akan berubah dan terus berharap akan seperti itu. Persis seperti frasa “kegilaan adalah saat kamu melakukan sesuatu berkali-kali dan berharap ada sesuatu yang berubah.”
EP perdana thuy, ‘i hope you see this’ adalah sebuah koleksi introspektif indah yang membahas tentang kisah patah hati, kisah cinta, empowerment, dan kepercayaan diri.
Musisi R&B keturunan Vietnam tersebut bertujuan untuk menonjol di dunia musik pop saat ini. Musik menemaninya seiring ia beranjak dewasa dan saat ia menginjak usia 9, thuy bercita-cita menjadi seorang bintang pop.
